Letters to the Church

Christ’s Death and the Resurrection and transformation of his body are foundational to the Apostolic Tradition . The Apostle Paul discusses the future resurrection of believers in his second letter to Timothy in response to denials of this “ sound teaching ” by false teachers. Faith in the future resurrection is central to the doctrine of salvation proclaimed by Jesus and his Apostles. This teaching is undeniably reliable since it is based on the historical Death and Resurrection of Jesus.

L'arrivée de Jésus à la fin de l'âge signifiera notre résurrection et la fin du Dernier Ennemi, la Mort  - 1 Corinthiens 15: 24-28. Certains membres de la congrégation de Corinthe niaient la résurrection future. Paul a répondu en soulignant à quel point la résurrection est nécessaire, et il a indiqué la Mort et la Résurrection passées du Christ comme modèle et précédent de notre résurrection future.  Nous serons ressuscités corporellement lorsque Jésus “ arrivera ”, et son apparition signifiera le renversement de la mort elle-même.

The arrival of Jesus at the end of the age will mean our resurrection and the end of the Last Enemy, Death  - 1 Corinthians 15:24-28. Certain members of the Corinthian congregation were denying the future resurrection. Paul responded by stressing how necessary resurrection is, and he pointed to Christ’s past Death and Resurrection as the model and precedent for our future resurrection.  We will be raised bodily when Jesus “ arrives ,” and his appearance will mean the overthrow of death itself.

Paul a demandé à la congrégation de Philippes de continuer à leur “ achèvement ” en Jésus. Paul expresses his goal of going on to completion, a process that will culminate in bodily resurrection when Jesus arrives in glory . Paul instructed the congregation of Philippi to go on to “ completion ” in Jesus. Bodily resurrection must take place for the consummation of this process and the completion of our salvation. This will occur when Jesus appears “ on the clouds of Heaven .” God will continue to perform what He began with our conversion until “ the Day of Christ .” Salvation is a process throughout our lives.
